Today marks 10 years since the republic referendum. I’ve posted a few comments at LP on a thread about the republic.
There’s a good candidate for the title of our head of state if we have state-based elections and a council for the head of state where the presidency is rotated around the council. We could call the acting head of state for a particular year the president. Or we could call the person the Chair of the council for that particular year.
How about this: since the office will be filled by a yearly round-robin, what do you think of the title of The Rotating Chair. It’s a pun on the idea of a throne. It’s only an initial idea but I like it. Please feel free to leave a comment for any other ideas you have for a title for our head of state.
